A filter change warning light on the Hydrotap flashes to show when a filter change is due. Filter replacement at least once each 12 months is recommended.

The Zip replacement filters are to be used for your Zip HydroTap (all models). To make sure your water is always pure and fresh, a replacement light on your Zip HydroTap indicates when the filter needs replacing.
The effective life of your water filter depends upon the water quality in your area and how much water you use. To get the best out of your Zip filtered water appliance you need to replace the filter cartridge on a regular basis to ensure water quality and safety.
Replacement filtration cartridges are as easy to change as a light bulb and do not require you to turn off the water supply.
There are two types of filter replacements the standard Zip submicron water filter as found in all Zip HyrdoTap's and a replacement scale filtration filter which is found in the more advanced scale filtration kit (sold seperately).
The Zip submicron uses triple filtration technology and conforms to NSF standards 42 and 53, filtering out dirt, rust and particles that contaminate drinking water. It also filters out asbestos fibres and micronorganisms such as giardia and cryptosporidium, but does not remove fluoride. This means that Zip filtered water is not only cleaner but healthier too.
The scale filtration filter is an advanced version of the submicron filter and also addresses the problem of scale within your water supply.
